Day 5 starts out by looking at how to prepare budgets and avoid the some of the political pitfalls. We examine the issues surrounding capex and opex and how to manage them to create successful plans. We have a quick review of business case calculations and return on investment. We also look again at how best to present the results to senior management.
The second session looks at contracts, vendors and negotiation. Key negotiation techniques and skills are presented here, reinforced with case studies and role play.
The third session looks at outsourcing, in-sourcing and off-shoring and striking the right balance. The last ten years has seen major changes in the way organisations handle their information technology and we examine the dynamics of change.
The final module on day five is a case study / role play designed to explore and test the skills learnt during the programme. One of the key features of this 5-day programme is the practical nature of the training, based on years of running major IT organisations. Participants are encouraged to complete action matrices during the programme, to ensure that the material taught and key knowledge gained is applied to the delegate’s real life environment.
